ROLES AND KEY DUTIES
Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Support the classroom teacher with high-quality lesson delivery.
- Help prepare resources and set up engaging learning environments.
- Assist pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain class routines.
- Provide general support during lessons, breaks, and school outings.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment for all children.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted strategies.
- Modify activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Track and report on pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external specialists.
- Support pupils’ emotional and social development throughout the school day.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Plan and deliver lessons under teacher direction.
- Lead whole-class sessions in the teacher’s absence or during PPA.
- Run focused intervention and booster groups.
- Support with planning, assessment, and behaviour strategies.
- Mentor and support less experienced TAs and LSAs.
- Maintain accurate pupil records and communicate effectively with staff and families.

You can offer us:
- as a Primary Teaching Assistant, your experience in primary education from Early Years to Year 6. Ideally, a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, but experience is necessary
- as a Learning Support Assistant, your experience supporting 1:1 or small groups of pupils with SEND
- as a HLTA, your experience with delivering lessons, taking classes and supporting classroom staff. A relevant qualification is preferred.
