How do I book cover through Moore Teachers?

Arranging cover with Moore Teachers is very straightforward.

If you have booked with us previously and are working with a specific consultant, then you can contact them directly as well.

We will need some information from you about the cover required so that we can find the right person for your school:

  • The day(s) and date(s) the cover is needed for
  • Year group(s)
  • The nominated contact (if not yourself)
  • Any school/class/pupil-specific information that the teacher or member of support staff might need to know (e.g. if it’s an LSA role, please share the needs of the child)
What time and how can I contact you for a last-minute booking?

The office is staffed between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. However, if you call the office outside of these times, your call will be diverted to a consultant who is working out-of-hours; they will be able to help and organise cover for you.

Where would I find information about your safer recruitment, selection and vetting policy?

Please visit the Recruitment, Selection and Vetting page of our website. If you require a copy of our Recruitment, Selection and Vetting policy, please contact us at the office.

Do you provide longer-term cover and recruitment?

Absolutely. We provide staff for all types of roles and cover within primary schools, including longer-term cover. For teaching staff, this can be with or without full class responsibility, depending on the needs of the school. We are also able to recruit for permanent roles. Please contact us at the office on 01992 611902 to discuss your requirements and to speak with our consultants about how we can help you.

Are all your staff cleared through the DBS and have their certificates?

Yes. All staff are subject to an Enhanced DBS with barred list check and are expected to subscribe to the Update Service. On the first day of their assignment with you, they will arrive to school with a proof of ID and the original paper copy of their DBS for you to check and verify with information that we will send you.

What confirmation will we receive when we book staff through Moore Teachers?

You will receive a booking confirmation from us that indicates:

  • The name of the staff member who will be attending and their position
  • The start and end date of the assignment
  • Who the booking was made by
  • The days and daily rate charged
  • Any additional information (year groups etc)

It will also provide information about our cancellation policy.

How much do you charge for a supply teacher?

Charge rates depend on teacher pay scales and experience. Rates for long-term positions with full class responsibility are kept to a minimum margin that is below schools’ on-costs. If you are a Hertfordshire primary school, please either call us or log in to Teach in Herts where you can find further, more detailed information about charge rates, and compare these to others on the Supply Framework. If you are an Essex primary school, please contact the office on 01992 611902.

What happens if I need to cancel a booking?

We understand that circumstances change and there may be times where you will need to cancel a booking with us. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the booking is due to commence. If the cancellation occurs less than 24hours before the start of the booking, we reserve the right to charge the full booking fee. This is because, at such short notice, the candidate has already committed to the assignment and may not be able to secure alternative work.

How do I give feedback about a teacher that has been in our school?

Moore Teachers welcomes all feedback about the staff that we place in schools. We often send out a feedback form which you can return to us, and you are also more than welcome to send us an email or call us at the office.

We would like to take one of your supply teachers on contract with us. How can we go about this?

Please contact the office on 01992 611902 to discuss this. If you are a Hertfordshire school, the terms, fees and conditions are also available to view via your Teach in Herts login.
